Therapeutic Massage is this month’s Spotlight on a Business sponsored by the Red Bud Chamber of Commerce. The business, owned and operated by Karen Liefer, is located at 1514 S. Main, Suite 1.
Liefer graduated from Midwest Institute of Massage School in June 2002. Therapeutic Massage opened in 2002 and Liefer bought the business in January 2008. She is still taking continuing educations every year to keep her license up to date.
According to Liefer, Therapeutic Massage is used in almost all of their treatments. It is a soft tissue therapy which improves the functioning of the muscular, circulatory, lymphatic, skeletal and nervous systems. It also improves the rate in which the body recovers from injury or illness.
EB Cellular Foot Detox is a ion therapy device that creates an electromagnetic field that draws the toxins through your feet as they soak in the water. Healthy people often feel more energy and experience a greater feeling of well-being. Those with pain, headaches and swollen joints often report immediate relief. Others with arthritis, lymph edema and allergies experience relief with multiple treatments. Average treatment time is 18-23 minutes.
Pregnancy massage is very beneficial to the mother-to-be. Not only does massage help ease the normal discomforts of pregnancy such as swollen ankles and feet, headaches, and edema, but also relieves depression and anxiety caused by hormonal changes. Massage increases local and general blood circulation, which brings more oxygen and nutrients to the cells of both the mother and the baby.
Therapuetic Massage also offers Specialized Area of Pain which includes 30 minute massage; chronic injuries; headaches, neck and shoulder pain; back, lumbar and sciatic pain; shin splints, knee and foot pain. Full body massage including one hour massage; full body detoxification; pain management and trigger point therapy.
