Shop Red Bud First!

The Red Bud Chamber of Commerce encourages you to shop Red Bud First!

Shopping locally is beneficial to Red Bud because it:

  • Expands the local tax base
  • Increases employment  opportunities
  • Reinvests dollars into the community
  • Allows our community to grow

Customer service is better in Red Bud.  Owners and employees who live in the community are motivated to treat customers who are neighbors with respect in order to preserve and enhance their reputation in the community.

Local business owners invest in community.  Local businesses are owned by people who live in this community, are less likely to leave, and are more invested in the community’s future.

Do out of town businesses support your community?

  • Have they donated for your child in sports, school, etc.?
  • Have they ever purchased tickets to your activities?
  • Have they ever opened after hours when you were in desperate need of something they sell?
  • Have they ever contributed to Red Bud community projects?
  • Have they ever put posters for your activities in their windows?

Your local business provides these extras because he or she is your friend, your neighbor, and an essential part of your community.  All they ask in return is your business.

Are we saying don’t ever shop out of town?  No, but we are saying look at local business first.  If the quality of product and the quality of service is what you want, it only makes sense to shop at home.  The local price may not always be the lowest, and we don’t expect you to pay more for goods and services unless you perceive that the value outweighs the price difference.  By buying locally you may see significant savings in costs, time and transportation.  What we do hope is that you will at least give local businesses a chance.

This is something we can all do to improve our community.
